How we check the air con

Bad smells and calima
If the air smells damp when you switch it on or the airflow is weak, it is usually the cabin filter. Calima, the Saharan dust, clogs it faster. Changing it costs little and you notice the difference within a minute.

How much does a car air con regas cost in Tenerife?
From €60 with R134a gas and from €150 with R1234yf, including IGIC. The gas type is on a sticker under the bonnet, and if you cannot find it we can check from the number plate.
Why does the air con not cool when the car is stopped?
It is usually low gas, the radiator fan or a dirty condenser. While you are moving, air flows through and hides it; stopped, you notice. We confirm it by measuring the pressures.
How often should the air con be checked?
Once a year, ideally before summer. The system loses a little gas over time, and when it runs low the compressor suffers.
Why does the air in my car smell?
Almost always it is moisture in the evaporator and a dirty cabin filter. We change the filter and clean the system with a dedicated product.
