Bodywork
Car paint repair in the factory colour.
Scratches, a freshly repaired panel or lacquer burnt by the sun. We mix the colour from your car's paint code and blend it into the panels next to it, so the change does not show.
In a nutshell

- At GSP Garage, painting one panel, such as a door, a wing or a bumper, costs from €190 including IGIC.
- The colour comes from the manufacturer's paint code on a plate in the car, and it is blended into the panels next to it so the shade matches.
- Paintwork at GSP Garage has the same guarantee as any other repair there: 3 months or 2,000 km.
How we paint a panel
- 01PrepareWe sand it, fill where needed and apply primer.

- 04PolishOnce it has cured, we polish it to match the shine of the rest of the car.
Canary sun and lacquer
Lots of cars on the island have a whitish or crazed roof and bonnet. That is the lacquer, burnt by the sun. If it is only dull, a polish can sometimes bring it back. If it is already peeling, it needs sanding and a new coat of lacquer.
What we paint
- Panels fresh from a bodywork repair.
- Scratches and scuffs that will not polish out.
- Roof, bonnet and boot lid burnt by the sun.
- Bumpers, mirrors and door handles.
- The whole car, in its colour or a new one (with the change noted on the registration papers).
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to paint one panel of a car?
From €190 including IGIC, for a door, a wing or a bumper in a standard colour. Pearl or three-coat colours take more work and are quoted separately.
Will the colour difference show?
It should not. We start from your car's paint code and blend the colour into the panels next to it, so there is no hard edge.
Can a sun-damaged roof be fixed?
Yes. If the lacquer is only dull, a polish is sometimes enough. If it is peeling, it needs sanding, new lacquer and a polish.
When can I wash the car after it has been painted?
By hand, from the next day. Wait about 4 weeks before using a brush car wash or waxing the panel.
